Experience Sarnia
The Best of Downtown Sarnia
There is something special about the way the light hits the water where Lake Huron meets the St. Clair River. Here in downtown Sarnia, we live at a slightly slower pace—one governed by the passing of the lakers and the breeze off the water. When you stay with us at the B&B, you’re just a short stroll away from the heart of the city.
Morning Coffee & Slow Brunches
Most of our guests start their day with a walk toward the water. If you’re looking for a great caffeine fix or a quiet corner to read the paper, I always recommend Blackwater Coffee Co. For a more indulgent morning, Cromwell Grill does a fantastic breakfast that will keep you fueled for a day of exploring.
A Stroll Along the Waterfront
You can’t visit Sarnia without spending time at the riverfront. It’s the soul of the city. I suggest walking down toward Centennial Park to watch the massive ships navigate the current heading in and out of Lake Huron and under the Blue Water Bridge. It’s also a great spot to relax before an afternoon of shopping.
Curated Shopping & Local Art
Our downtown isn’t full of big-box stores; it’s a collection of passionate shop owners. If you enjoy hunting for unique finds, spend some time browsing the shelves at Downtown Market. For a dose of culture, the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery usually has something beautiful or thought-provoking on display.
Evening Eats & Entertainment
When evening rolls around, the downtown core hums with life. For a casual pint and some great pub food with live entertainment, Ups N’ Downs is a local staple. If you’re looking for a more refined “date night” atmosphere, I’d suggest booking a table at Lola’s Lounge.
After dinner, don’t forget your tickets to the Imperial Theatre—we have a surprisingly vibrant arts scene, and you can catch live music, a play, or a musical just blocks from our front door.
